User Aspirations and challenges

Jar's target users primarily consist of cab/auto drivers, small business owners, and individuals with irregular incomes. They often struggle with traditional savings methods due to income fluctuations and a lack of structured financial planning. Their primary financial goals often revolve around essential needs such as house loans, rent, two-wheeler purchases, electricity bills, and school fees.

We hopped into calls with selective users who signed up for Monthly/Weekly Savings, Used Daily Savings and had no idea about Monthly and Weekly Savings to understand the users' financial realities and aspirations through in-depth interviews
Key insights revealed:

  • Irregular income patterns made it challenging for users to commit to fixed saving amounts daily.

  • Users were motivated to save when they had clear financial objectives in mind.

  • Users preferred a hassle-free and easily understandable and automated savings experience.

  • Most of the users were auto/cab drivers and small retail business owners

The onboarding process guides users through selecting their preferred savings cadence (weekly or monthly) and setting up the automation of the savings.

Simple illustrations and animations that depict how regular savings, even in small amounts, can steadily contribute to achieving major financial milestones.
The narrative emphasizes the users aspirations and how Jar enables them to convert their savings to gold and with the appreciation of gold prices they can save for their goals.
